At One Point on July 19, Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis Held Hands

Exactly a month after they announced their amicable separation, they met up in the south of France, Us Weekly reports. And the entire Depp–Paradis family stopped by the Plan de la Tour market, where they were spotted "joking around" by (apparently the town's gossipmonger) Sofia DeCout, who added, "At one point, Johnny held Vanessa's hand!" And the earth stopped turning, and birds started chirping, and babies cried, and Ryan Lochte's grill sparkled, and there was a double rainbow! Anyway, according to another source, the two won't ever get back together, and Depp is dating Amber Heard.

The two companies just created a joint venture (51 percent of which is owned by PPR and 49 percent by Yoox), which "will be entirely dedicated to managing mono-brand online stores in collaboration with several PPR luxury brands: Bottega Veneta, Yves Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga and Sergio Rossi," according to a press release. Bottega Veneta's and Sergio Rossi's online stores should be up and running by the end of December, and the rest are set to launch next year. As for those PPR brands not on the list, they might be included in the project at a later date.

Alexa Chung Ate Cheetos on the Set of Gossip Girl

Alexa Chung walks with an umbrella to her trailer on the set of 'Gossip Girl' filming scenes at Capitale in the Lower East Side. Also seen trying to keep out of the rain were Leighton Meester, Yin Chang and Barry Watson
Pictured: Alexa Chung
Ref: SPL421104 010812
Picture by: Wylde / Splash News

Splash News and Pictures
Los Angeles:	310-821-2666
New York:	212-619-2666
London:	870-934-2666
photodesk@splashnews.com

She also drank a canned beverage out of a straw, wore a bright-blue sailor dress, and held an umbrella. According to British Vogue, Alexa started filming scenes for the show's final season yesterday in New York. Her spokesperson confirmed that she'd be making a "cameo" and would be "playing herself," which takes all of the fun out of guessing whom she's going to date: Chuck, Nate, or Dan. It's totally Dan. They're both so Brooklyn.

Watch Prada Models Play a Violent Game of Chess

You may recall that Prada's fall 2012 show featured lots of purple carpeting, white eyeliner, bleached eyebrows, and long, straight, ombré-dyed hair. (There were also some allusions to space travel, battery packs, and dream catchers, but no need to rehash that.) Anyway, you'll see more of the same in the label's new campaign video, directed and filmed by Steven Meisel in New York in April. Models — er, "virtual princesses" Vanessa Axente, Magdalena Frackowiak, Madison Headrick, Elza Luijendijk, Iselin Steiro, and Anne Vyalitsina play a vigorous game of chess, swish their hair around, and pad silently in their rubbery shoes around a thoroughly carpeted room full of unnecessary stairs. The soundtrack of tinkling bells is quite invigorating, too.

Has John Mayer Come Between Katy Perry and Baptiste?

Terrible news: Last night, Katy Perry and John Mayer were photographed in a car leaving the Chateau Marmont together. AND WE ALL KNOW WHAT FAMOUS PEOPLE GET UP TO IN CARS, DO WE NOT? This can only mean one thing — Katy and Baptiste's dubious-at-best relationship must have gone south. For all of us who harbored not-so-secret hopes of Katy starring in Baptiste's next music video, or even dared to dream of an introduction between Katy and Choupette, this is a terrible tragedy. Also, Katy's hair looks strangely normal here, all straight and brown without a purple streak in sight. This is a dark day indeed.

A Purple Wig, Sequins, and a Yin-Yang-Patterned Manicure: It Could Only Be Katy Perrys New Elle Cover

Katy Perry booked Elle magazine's September cover — and it's all candy-colored, true to form. But, shockingly, in the interview accompanying her cover, Perry tells the magazine she "can't be the candy queen forever." This can only mean she'll be squirting vegetable juice out of a special bra made from asparagus in her next video, because what's a girl to do without her signature gimmick?

John Galliano Is Reportedly Moving to L.A.

A kilt-clad John Galliano was reportedly seen dining at Sunset Tower's Tower Bar restaurant in West Hollywood with former LVMH executive Katherine Ross on July 21, and has since been looking for an apartment in the area. According to The Hollywood Reporter:

The next day, Galliano, with longtime Parisian partner Alexis Roche, visited L.A. friends, dropping the hint that Roche would like to style celebs, and that they're looking for an L.A. apartment, since the designer has finished his long stint in recovery.

Well, that could be a nice change for him! And everyone knows how well the blond-hair-and-beanie combo goes over out there.

Rachel Weisz Becomes the Second Human to Wear New Dior Couture in Public

Marion Cotillard was the first person to wear a piece from Raf Simons's debut Dior collection in the wild, taking it for a spin on the red carpet barely two weeks after it was shown. For all we know, she might have had some other couture from the same collection all sewn up and ready for the rest of her Dark Knight press tour, but chances are we'll never get to see it now. Enter Rachel Weisz, who wore a black dress from the same collection to the premiere of The Bourne Legacy in New York last night, making her the second person in the world to do so. It has a high side-slit and a pocket, which is a handy touch. Anyway, it'll be interesting to see how and when this collection will be sprinkled around to celebrities and magazines over the next few months. At least one of the garments will surely land a major cover.

A Note on Nicki Minajs Feathered Shin Ornaments in Her New Pound the Alarm Video

Nicki Minaj released her new "Pound the Alarm" video today, and as our brethren over at Vulture pointed out, it features a fascinating and unfamiliar garment (in addition to her usual jeweled bra tops, bikini bottoms, nipple chains, fishnet tights, and the like): hot-pink feathery things affixed to the fronts of her shins, sort of like a below-the-knee boa. What a novelty! What are these even called, officially? Some have dubbed them "feathered leg warmers," but they could also be called "feathered shin guards" or "shinfeathers" or our personal favorite, "sheathers." In any case, they're fluttery and festive and very entertaining to watch while Nicki's dancing and stomping about. She might be onto something big here.

Macys Just Cant Keep Martha Stewart Away From J.C. Penney

Try as they might — and despite winning a preliminary injunction against Martha Stewart to prevent her from selling branded bedding, kitchenwares, and other Martha-esque goods at J.C. Penney stores — Macy's just can't seem to keep Martha to themselves. As for the breach of contract lawsuit that Macy's filed against MLSO last December? Martha Stewart president and CEO Lisa Gersh says that it won't affect their relationship with J.C. Penney, even though that's exactly what the lawsuit is about: "This case is primarily a contract dispute over how certain products are branded and sold, not about the validity of the partnership with J.C. Penney," she said. WWD reports that Macy's has declined to comment on the matter, although they can't be too pleased.

Keeping Up With the Royals (and Other Celebrities) at the London Olympics

Many members of the British royal family filled seats at London's mad Olympic opening ceremony on Friday night, no doubt as excited — if not more so — to watch the Queen's sky-diving exploits as the rest of us. They've since popped up at events all over: Charles and Camilla watched some cycling; Prince William took in a football match; and everyone supported Zara Phillips (daughter of Princess Anne) as she competed in equestrian events. Michelle Obama is in town because of her role leading the U.S. delegation, as is David Beckham, thanks to all of his ambassadorial work. Click through our slideshow, which will be updated as the Games continue, to see all the famous faces cheering from the stands ... there should be lots of them by the Games' end, because you know they won't have had any problems getting tickets.

NEW YORK, NY - JUNE 11: Fashion designer Stella McCartney attends the Stella McCartney Spring 2012 Presentation on June 11, 2012 in New York City. (Photo by Andrew H. Walker/Getty Images)

Vogue tapped Stella McCartney to be their correspondent at Friday's Opening Ceremony for the London Olympic Games, and her amusing account of the proceedings is on their website today. Some highlights:

My daughter was so happy to see Mary Poppins while I was getting a bit interactive by swinging my light paddle in the air — that was a good workout. There were lot of paper mache [sic] and velcro in da' house, and then Mr. Bean came in and the kids were completely engaged! I could see the torch was coming — and close behind it is none other than David Beckham. He did tell me he was a tad busy and would be late — a tad busy indeed!

MGA Entertainment brought a $10 million lawsuit against the singer on Tuesday, after she asked the toy manufacturer to take out the figurines' voice chips, which means they won't be in stores for the holiday shopping season — part of Lady Gaga's supposed plan, because she wanted to release them when her new album and Fame perfume debut next year, MGA claims. (MGA also gave her licensing company a $1 million advance to make the dolls.) But, according to the Daily News, a Manhattan judge decided yesterday that Gaga and her entourage won't be ordered to give final approval to the prototypes, meaning Gaga's request for them to be silenced is still valid.

Bust Magazine Asked Tavi About the Future

She said: "I think that I will probably finish high school and do a couple of projects that I'm excited about on the side. I love movies and TV, and it seems like that's the best way to apply all of the aesthetics I'm interested in. I would really, really, really enjoy filmmaking or art-directing. Then, after high school, I think I want to take a year off and live in L.A., because I just really like it there and everything is pretty. But yeah, I need to take a year off from school after high school because I want to be able to focus on one thing: life or school ... I'm a little worried that I'll take a year off and then just never go to college." She also talked about humping parties, which, of course, she doesn't attend.

That Intern Versus Hearst Corp. Case Is Now a Class-Action Suit

NEW YORK, NY - MARCH 06: A general view of The Hearst Tower at 300 West 57th Street on March 6, 2012 in New York City. (Photo by Ben Hider/Getty Images)

Somehow, this slipped by us: Earlier this month, a federal judge conditionally granted Xuedan "Diana" Wang's lawsuit against the publisher "class-action" status. Wang, if you remember, was a former unpaid intern at Harper's Bazaar from August 2011 to December 2011 and went to court in February, claiming that Hearst Corp. violated federal and state wage and hour laws by not compensating her even when she frequently worked there full-time. Guidelines from the U.S. Labor Department say that unpaid internships must be educational and "for the benefit of the intern," but, the Times reported, "Wang's lawyers said that by treating her and others as interns rather than regular employees, they were denied not only wages, but also Social Security contributions and the right to receive unemployment insurance and workers' compensation."

Our two beloved look book subjects, Michelle Obama and Kate Middleton, met for the second time today in London! You may recall that their first rendezvous took place a little bit more than a year ago at Buckingham Palace in London, right after Kate and Will returned from their honeymoon in the Seychelles. This time, MObama's in town for the Olympic Games and to promote the Let's Move London initiative (with David Beckham!). So far, this is the only picture we can find of them together, and it's almost ruined — or improved, depending on your opinion — by U.S. Ambassador Louis Susman, who actually dared to close his eyes during the momentous few seconds that Kate and Michelle were touching each other.

Should You Consider Including the Word Virgin in Your Fashion Label...

Richard Branson, owner of international megabrand Virgin (which is perhaps best known for its airline, but also encompasses water purifiers, wines, book publishing, and space travel), has sent a cease-and-desist letter to the New York–based denim label I Am Not a Virgin, claiming that the line's name infringes on his copyright. The label's founder, Peter Heron, tells the Telegraph that Branson's lawyers had the audacity to suggest some alternative names, like "I Am Not Chaste" or "I Am Not Pure" — hilarious! We'd argue that Branson might actually be doing Heron a favor by making him change his brand name; hopefully Heron considers a new title that's fewer than four words long and won't be quite so awkward to say out loud.

Yesterday, Kate Middleton removed her shoes to observe a judo match during an appearance at Bacon College in London, marking her bare feet's public debut (and exposing our heretofore unknown desire to see them). Indeed, it's quite rare for celebrities to allow their toes to be photographed, probably because even the nicest pieds rarely look good on-camera. After doing some research on the matter, we can deduce that the majority of shoeless celebrity photographs occur thanks to the following situations:

1. The celebrity is on a yacht, where shoe removal is mandatory.
2. The celebrity is at the beach.
3. The celebrity experiences some sort of shoe-related mishap, like a broken heel.
4. The celebrity is giving a musical performance.

Look, I know we've gone a little crazy with this whole l'affair KStew thing, but it needs to be on the record: This photo of "a teary-eyed Kristen Stewart," purportedly taken shortly after she issued her public apology for cheating on Robert Pattinson, looks suspiciously like the above photo from July 19. Same Adidas tee and rolled-up gym shorts. Same sunglasses. Same rings on the same fingers, same hair bands on the same wrist, same un-chipped robin's-egg blue manicure. What's the chance her manicure lasted six days without chips? Particularly if she was crying and rending her garments because her boyfriend had just left her?

Russian authorities are investigating the origins of 248 human fetuses found in formaldehyde-filled plastic containers in a forest in the Sverdlovsk region. Some believe there is a link to an active black market for human embryos and fetuses to be used in untested beauty treatments, according to the Telegraph.

Katie Holmess Label Is Enjoying a Nice Sales Boost, Unsurprisingly

Before her divorce, Katie Holmes lined up a bunch of strategic press for her three-year-old fashion line, Holmes & Yang, which she'll present for the first time at New York Fashion Week this September. She designs the label with her stylist, Jeanne Yang, whom she met through Tom Cruise back in the day (Cruise was also one of Yang's clients, but WWD reported this week that "one expects that relationship now likely to end"). Unsurprisingly, the label has benefited from Holmes's increased visibility: Employees from Barneys's Beverly Hills and New York locations told Fox News that the clothes had been selling "particularly well," while the store's Dallas location — which doesn't carry the line (yet!) — has supposedly been getting a lot of requests for it. Holmes & Yang, whose prices fall in the high-end ready-to-wear category, won't divulge any numbers, but one imagines they must be good.

The Teen Choice Awards red carpet is usually a perfect storm of hot summer weather, neon colors, and teenage stars wading through the awkward phases of "figuring out their style," and this year's was no exception. Although plenty of celebrities showed up looking the same as they normally do (Taylor Swift, Zooey Deschanel, and Pauly D, to name a few examples), some ventured quite far out of their normal wardrobe ranges (Carly Rae Jepsen, Cat Deeley, and the Jenner sisters). Click through our slideshow to see how the kids fared.

Facebook Commenters Horrified by the New Saint Laurent Paris Logo

Yves Saint Laurent officially released the new Saint Laurent Paris logo on their Facebook page today, which shows two black boxes stacked on a marble tabletop. As previously reported, the font — printed in white against a black background — is square, simple, and fuss-free; as promised, it's much more like the label's 1966 lettering than the swirly Yves Saint Laurent typography of recent years. (Also, remember that the label is keeping the YSL "Cassandre" logo on all of its beauty products.) Despite Hedi Slimane's nod to the label's past, Facebook commenters have responded to the new logo with vehement hostility. "Where's the iconography? This is not iconic," protested one, while another accused the new logo of looking a lot "like Zara"; a third very astutely observed that "YSL without the Y is not YSL." It'll hopefully be easier to get onboard with these changes once we get to see the clothes, shoes, and bags that come with them.

The Spice Girls Will, in Fact, Spice Up Your Olympics Closing Ceremony

Playing coy on Friday, when asked by radio station RTE whether the group might take the stage at the event, Victoria Beckham responded, "I would love nothing more ... If they're up for something, then I certainly am." And a source told the Telegraph that the girl group was asked to be a part of the show two years ago, and planned to sing two songs (one would be "Wannabe"). Today, likely wearing her Chanel robe and lounging on the stairs of 31 Rue Cambon, Victoria finally confirmed to British Vogue that the Spice Girls would be reuniting for the Games' closing ceremony, and that she apparently "told friends the news last week." We must've missed her call.

People seem to be terrified of cream blush, but there's no reason to be. In fact, cream blush just melts into the skin. Honestly, you can't mess it up. Even if you've applied too much, you can just keep rubbing in the stuff until you have the right amount of tint on your cheeks. My go-to is La Prairie's Cellular Radiance Cream Blush in Plum Glow. Whether I'm slightly tan or wintry-pale, it makes my cheeks look alive. The color lasts all day, and the subtle shimmer gives my skin that glow that you can only get from endorphins and, well, excellent cream blush. And it works with or without foundation.

The Russian Olympic Committee Doesnt Know What Dov Charney Is Talking About

While everyone weighed in on Ralph Lauren's China-made Olympic uniforms for Team USA earlier this week, Dov Charney lurked into the spotlight, with a mention on ABC's "World News Tonight" and similar intel printed in the Post:

Since 2011, the Russian Olympic team has been in talks with Los Angeles–based American Apparel for a deal to design its clothing for the 2014 games, sources confirmed.

"[Russian Olympic team representatives] said they didn't want anything that was made in China," American Apparel CEO Dov Charney told The Post. "It's not just for the uniforms — it's also the merchandise."

Slideshow: Celebrating the Best-Dressed Lady Superheroes

WONDER WOMAN, (aka THE NEW ADVENTURES OF WONDER WOMAN), Lynda Carter, 1975-1979

The best thing about being a superhero, besides the ability to fly and see through walls, is that you can dart around a city without wearing pants and no one will give you any trouble. It makes sense — cropped trousers and harem pants are great if you’re sitting at a desk all day, but spandex tights and leather bodysuits are much more work-friendly if you’re in the crime-fighting business. So, in honor of Anne Hathaway’s debut as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, we celebrate these pantless, leather-clad ladies of comic-book and fantasy fame. Click ahead to see some of the most fashionable lady superheroes, from Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman to Halle Berry as Catwoman, and a few villains (how could we possibly leave out Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy with her Taylor Tomasi red hair and shiny, green leotard?) in our slideshow.

Kate Spade New York Is All Set Without a Big-Name Star in Its Ads

Katia Kuethe, the brand's new senior director of creative, told the Times, "I think the whole celebrity thing has become very formulaic: the idea of using a celebrity just for the sake of using one. Essentially it's become just paying for exposure. Our brand doesn't have to go there. Mind you, if I find that perfect girl [ed. note: like Bryce Dallas Howard?] that I think could work with our brand long-term in a year or whenever, I'll reconsider, but for now, Kate Spade New York is doing fine without."

25 Glamorous Clip-On Earrings

For those of us who weren't allowed to have pierced ears as tweens, clip-on earrings were the next best thing. Slightly painful and usually gaudy, they bring to mind bad eighties fashion or endless days playing dress-up — but the newest ones look anything but childish. Made from sparkly crystals or sculptural metals, these updated statement pieces are a nod to the glamorous and oversize jewelry of the fifties. Lanvin's star-shaped studs or Oscar de la Renta's dangling, sapphire-hued stones are investment-worthy pieces that will instantly draw attention to your face. And if you'd rather test the trend, Forever 21's rhinestone clusters or Betsey Johnson's ombre rosettes are just as eye-catching. Click ahead to see these, and more, in our slideshow.

Sherri Shepherd, Longtime Wig Proponent, Gets Her Own Hairpiece Line

A wig and hair-extension company called Luxhair has roped three celebrities into repping new lines for them, including Sherri Shepherd, whose well-documented history of wig-wearing dates back to her childhood. She has previously likened hairpieces to accessories, "like a hat or a bracelet," adding, "you can become someone else, and then you go home and take that bad baby off!" She tells WWD:

One day I can wear what I like to call my ‘Back to you, Barbara’ look — professional and full of layers — and the next day you may see me in my ‘Bubblin’ Brown Sugar’ look — curly, fun and bubbly.

The Louis Vuitton Train: Part Deux

Thanks to the dramatic opening of the fall 2012 Louis Vuitton show, when a full-size locomotive stuffed full of models, enormous hats, and besuited men carrying huge pieces of luggage chuff-chuffed its way into the Louvre, the world knows that said train is actually capable of moving. It has since moved all the way to Shanghai, where it reprised its role yesterday before a crowd of Chinese celebrities including Fan Bingbing, Kiko Mizuhara, and Luodan Wang (plus some folks Louis Vuitton flew in for the occasion, like Peter Marino, Alexa Chung, Poppy Delevigne, and Clemence Poesy). The real question is, where will this train go next? Will it be laid to rest, its fifteen minutes of fame over and done with? Or perhaps it'll go on a much-deserved vacation, full of delicious cocktails and extravagant dinners (come to think of it, the poor thing's probably been on a liquid diet since March).

Youll Be Able to Shop the Next Barneys Warehouse Sale Online!

NEW YORK - NOVEMBER 11: Pedestrians pass Barneys New York November 11, 2004 in New York City. The Jones Apparel Group has announced a deal to buy Barneys, the clothing chain that has its flagship store on Madison Avenue. Jones said the $400 million deal included cash consideration of $19 a share to Barneys stockholders, totaling $294.3 million, and the repurchase of Barneys notes worth $106 million. (Photo by Spencer Platt/Getty Images)

Anyone who has ever been within a one-block radius of the biannual Barneys New York warehouse sale knows what a nuthouse it is. There are people lined up down the street, people lined up at the registers inside, and people lined up just to look at the shoes. Since there are no dressing rooms, there is unabashed nudity. Oh, and there's wildly discounted designer stuff everywhere, which means that everyone has that frenzied, crazy look in their eyes because they're convinced they're going to find something amazing for unbelievably cheap ... as long as no one else finds it first. It is, in other words, not for the faint of heart. But this fall, Barneys is making the sale available online before it even hits the racks — so that you can shop in an infinitely more civilized manner and not have to take your pants off in front of your fellow shoppers while your friend tries (unsuccessfully) to shield you from view. WWD reports that you can even preview the sale — which starts in August — now, here.

Alessandra Ambrosio was spotted out in West Hollywood yesterday wearing a black-and-white striped tank top and cutoff shorts. She accessorized with a Celine bag, red bedazzled boots, an armful of bracelets, and her dog, whose pink dye job seems to be in need of a touch-up.

This is a look that very few people (and dogs) could pull off, but does Alessandra? Or is this an outfit that no one should try?

Read the Tales of a Photo Retoucher; Its Time for Anne V to Get Serious With Alexander Skarsgrd

• BuzzFeed Shift talked to a photo retoucher who said, among many other interesting things: "I work on supermodels, and people are always asking, what do you do to them? We do a lot of skin clean-up to make their skin look perfect, but I don't do any distortion of their bodies because these girls are really genetically blessed. I have smoothed boniness before — like when models have bones sticking out of their chest, they want that subdued. That's somewhat common." [BuzzFeed Shift]

Experts Divided: Does Kate Middleton Look Pregnant or Anorexic in This Dress?

Dressed in electric blue Stella McCartney for a visit to the National Portrait Gallery, Kate Middleton's midsection has become a litmus test for body dysmorphic disorder: Whereas The Daily Beast's resident royalist thinks Kate looks "pregnant?" in this shift, Us Weekly says she looks "slim, sexy."

Middleton's middle: a Rorschach blot for determining whether you are more obsessed with babies or bodies.
