Ana Beatriz Barros, 30, is one of Brazil's most successful models. Scouted at the age of 13 on Ipanema Beach in Rio de Janeiro, she started out as the face of Guess alongside her friend Alessandra Ambrosio and has since worked with Dior, Armani, L'Oréal and Chanel among others. She is best known in Britain for her turn as the underwear model for Marks & Spencer. Barros is a seven-time Victoria's Secret Angel and has appeared in Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue also seven times since 2002. She is the youngest of three sisters, one of whom, Patricia, is a Brazilian TV actress. Barros now lives in New York.
Favourite designers There are so many: Karl Lagerfeld, Giambattista Valli, Azzedine Alaïa, Alexander Wang and John Galliano. I think a woman should be elegant, confident and comfortable with herself. I don't agree with buying things just because they are in fashion. My style depends on my mood when I wake up. During the day my basics are jeans, T-shirts and flip-flops, but if I go out for dinner in the evening I like to dress up with a nice pair of high heels and some jewellery.
Dress I bought a red Valentino gown 10 years ago in Milan and I still love it.
Most memorable outfit The outfit that I wore to Stavros Niarchos's Hallowe'en party at the Gramercy Hotel in New York last year was pretty wild - a brown feathered dress with my belly on show and a feathered head-dress. I looked like a wild woman.
Heels Christian Louboutin.
Bag An Hermès Birkin for the day and for the evening an Alexander McQueen clutch with skull rings that you can put your knuckles through. The pattern is the Union Jack.
Watch I love watches. I probably own seven or eight. My favourite brands are Rolex and Hublot.
Jewellery I don't wear much everyday jewellery, just little diamond earrings and hippie bracelets given to me by friends. My mum gives me a lot of jewellery. She is a very generous mother. There is one bracelet that I don't ever take off and will always wear, the Cartier Love bracelet that was given to me by an ex-boyfriend.
Denim Skinny jeans by 7 For All Mankind.
Underwear La Perla.
If you could visit only one shop It has to be Bergdorf Goodman in New York because they have everything you need and there's no reason to leave. I live in New York and I go there once a week.
Facial I only ever see my dermatologist, Andrea Giobi, in São Paulo.
Hairdresser My hair is cut by different people all the time on shoots and jobs. I'm not fussy. Anybody is good.
Moisturiser Chanel Hydramax for my face and L'Occitane for my body.
Mascara Lancôme.
Lipstick Chanel.
Perfume Love by Ralph Lauren.
Beauty essentials Lancôme Juicy Tube lip gloss, Clarins factor-60 sun cream and silicon oil for my hair. I couldn't live without that - I use it every day.
Guilty pleasure Chocolate ice cream.
Biggest luxury Hanging out with friends and family in São Paulo. I have two sisters; one is an actress so we don't all get together that much. We all travel a lot so for me that is a real luxury. I try to see my mum at least once every two months. I can't not see her; I need her energy. She lives three blocks from my house in São Paulo so whenever I'm in town we have lunch together every day.
Smallest luxury Flying business class.
Best present ever received A surprise birthday party that my sisters and my friends threw for me on my 20th birthday at a restaurant called Butter in New York. There were 250 friends and family.
