Nolan Miller, the American fashion designer behind and television costumier best known for his work on Dynasty has died at the age of 79.
Actress Joan Collins, who starred as super-bitch Alexis Colby Carrington in the hit TV series for a decade wearing Nolan's glamorous designs, confirmed his death in a statement, the New York Times reports.

With a weekly budget of $35,000 (£23,000), Miller designed over 3,000 costumes for Dynasty winning an Emmy in 1984 for his work on the show. His signature designs featuring power-shoulders, fabulous gowns and statement rocks have become synonymous with Eighties style.
"I never want to see them wearing the same outfit twice," he famously said.
Besides Dynasty and its spin-off show The Colby's , Miller also collaborated with late TV producer Aaron Spelling - with whom he lived for many years - on a slew of other landmark shows including Charlie's Angels , The Love Boat , Fantasy Island and Hart to Hart . The pair reportedly fell out in 2000 following a disagreement about a dress.
His private couture clients in Beverly Hills were an elite club too, with Elizabeth Taylor , Sophia Loren , and of course, Joan Collins, all paying regular visits to his studio where he would create gowns befitting of their old-Hollywood glamour style.
Miller was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2006 and announced his retirement in 2011 on TV shopping channel QVC for which he had designed a costume jewellery line for over 20 years.
